| “God doesn't require us to succeed; he only requires that you try” (Mother Teresa).
We often get caught up with our busy lives and miss out on some really amazing opportunities that God intersects our lives with. Jesus was an awesome example of someone that took the time in the midst of His busy life. Take some time and read the book of Luke to see some of these “interruptions” that he had. There is a story of some guys who took a physically challenged friend and tried to see Jesus. They couldn’t get through the door of the house that Jesus was in so they took him up on the roof. They cut through the roof and lowered their friend down in front of Jesus. (Check out the whole story in Luke 5). There were no guarantees that Jesus would do something for this guy but his friends made the effort and tried! Micah 6:8 (NLT) says, “the LORD has already told you what is good, and this is what he requires: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
There are a lot of people in our community who need us to step out and “try” so that they can see the reality of Christ in us.
Here are some opportunities to “try” in our community:

“Mentoring is about the power of friendship. The volunteers and young people in our programs experience the magic of everyday moments when they are shared with a friend. Everyone needs someone to laugh with, share a dream with, and just hang out... with friends it's the little things that mean the most.”
